About Dr. Richter

Franz Richter, MD is a physician who is very interested in functional nutrition and complementary medicine. Prior to pursuing studies in nutrition, auricular acupuncture, medicinal herbs, and other alternative therapies, he received a medical degree from Universidad Nacional Mayor de San Marcos in Lima, Peru. He decided to focus on physical medicine and rehabilitation after finishing his medical internship in the USA and getting training and certification in the therapeutic use of ozone. At this point, he realized how critical diet and nutrition are to the healing process for all illnesses.

As a result of his interest in functional medicine, doctor Richter pursued between 2011-2012 an advanced fellowship in the discipline, where he discovered the significance of nutrition in the healing of wounds and the prevention of illness. Since then, he has included nutritional optimization into his traditional medical practice in Miami, with excellent outcomes in terms of illness prevention and injury healing.

Doctor Richter has attended conferences and online webinars, where he has learnt about the awful reality that many medical practitioners including medical doctors, cardiologists, endocrinologists, rheumatologists, etc. lack adequate training in nutrition. Most of the scientific studies that are hallmarks for medical schools and textbooks were selected by famous Universities who receive funds for research from pharmaceutical companies. These studies have not taken into consideration the nutritional status, minerals, vitamins and other micronutrients in the “normal” subjects, nor in the “sick or study subjects” patients. They just assume that since some basic labs show no liver enzyme alterations and blood cells in normal range, they are healthy. There are plenty of well-designed studies, but they are not published or divulged due to pressure from politicians that respond to “big pharma”. He has conducted extensive literature reviews to uncover safe and effective nutrients for managing and preventing diabetes, a condition he believes may be reversed by nutrition and food-as-medicine.

Doctor Richter places a strong emphasis on the importance of nutrition in his all-encompassing approach to healthcare in order to achieve optimum health and wellness. He is committed to giving his patients the knowledge and abilities they need to manage and prevent chronic conditions like diabetes, which is brought on by eating an excessive amount of the wrong foods and has been shown to be reversible, as evidenced by the fact that bariatric surgery (which shrinks the stomach to make you eat significantly less and feel full) can reverse it. They permanently lower their blood sugar levels and insulin resistance after losing all of their additional weight.
